And the Heavens Declare His Handiwork

Thanks to Tropical Storm Erin, Texas is belted again with rain. That's ok though. I am just glad that our trip to the beach wasn't shortened because of her. Isn't it amazing how we work our lives around the seasons and the storms? We complain it's hot or cold. We complain because it's wet or dry. We either have too much rain or not enough. We are inconvenienced to mow and when mowing season is through we complain about the leaves that litter the ground. Our lives go through the same "weather" complaints everytime something is not as we see it, "normal". Don't you think? Just another comparison for you to think about on this rainy day.

Girl, we are praying Erin makes a swing back east and dumps so rain on us. Right now everything is so dry and brown. The grass actually crunches when you walk across it. We are 22 inches into a drought. It's so bad here. And we are going on our 9th day of 100+ degree weather.

I've had some spiritual journey days that have felt just that dry too.

Good post.

One more analogy--sometimes the weather in our lives that we are tired of is weather that others would appreciate having! (Just like we'd love some of your rain right now.) We take our seasons of life for granted, when others would gladly trade places with us at times.

Rain? What is that? We are in a major drought and have severe water shortage here. Send it this way!
